CES: Daimler & Google Expands Partnership
At the CES trade show in Las Vegas Daimler and Google announced a deepening of their strategic partnership.
This new agreement will provide Daimler with “access to the suite of application programming interfaces (APIs) known as Google Maps API for Business for the use of cloud-based, map-related applications in Daimler vehicles and early access to other new APIs as they are developed.“ Daimler and Google have been working together for several years. In 2007 Daimler was the first automotive manufacturer in the U.S. to implement the Google "Send-to-Car" functionality in a car. Later on Mercedes-Benz brought Google Street View, Panoramio and local search technologies to their cars. Thursday January 12, 2012
