Barcode Scanning Introduced in Locative Game MyTown
Booyah, the company powering the location-based game MyTown today introduced “product check-in” – a real product barcode scan using the iPhone camera - to unlock points and earn exclusive virtual items.

With this new feature Booyah is going one step further in the “proof of presence” model: beyond entering the store it goes to holding a product in its hand.

“It’s a holy grail for marketers and brands to have their target audience actually hold their products in their hands,” said Keith Lee, CEO at Booyah. “It’s as close as you will get before point of sale. Not to mention that a consumer’s product check-in history is invaluable data.”
