Monetization
A fast monetization of the application does not seem to be the goal of Aha Mobile. When we asked Robert Acker, the CEO of the company he sent us this reply via email: "Right now, Aha is focused on building a great experience for drivers by creating the first driver-to-driver network with our free application for the iPhone. […] Once we have a large network of drivers and have continued to add capabilities to our unique 65 mph interface, there are a number of revenue opportunities we can pursue. However, we are not discussing specifics at this time but are instead focused on growing the network with a great free experience."

Aha raised $3 million from VC firm Venrock in May so there is no immediate pressure to monetize its community. The usual way to do it would be advertising, however Robert Acker also told us that: “Aha is built on a flexible back end platform that will let us add other devices and in-dash systems to our network in the future.” So the business model is more likely to be licensing deals with connected navigation makers and car manufacturers.
