Aha Mobile Acquired by Harman
In-car infotainment provider Harman said today that it has acquired Aha Mobile, a Palo Alto start-up providing on-demand mobile and location-based Internet content services.

Aha Mobile launched its “Aha Radio” for the Apple iPhone earlier this year, an application that allows drivers to share real-time, location-based traffic reports, entertainment and social network information. Integrated speech-to-text technology offers to verbally interact via social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook or select from hundreds of channels of Web-based audio information.

In addition to the integration of Aha with existing HARMAN systems, the company will continue working with third parties to enable customized Web content on their products by leveraging the Aha platform.

Created by CEO Robert Acker, a former executive at Dash Navigation, Aha had raised $3 million from venture capital firm Venrock in May 2009.
