Ad Bastiaansen
Ad Bastiaansen is the CEO of the Road Group, a new holding company launched at the end of August that defines itself as a “supplier of navigational products and new online Location Based Services”. GPS Business News interviewed with Ad Bastiaansen to better understand what is the Road Group and its acquisition strategy on the GPS market.
Prior to launching the Road Group with Roel Pieper (Philips, Tandem Computers, Compaq), Mr Bastiaansen was Senior Vice President of corporate business development for Tele Atlas where he spent 17 years committed to the worldwide development of the company. In parallel Bastiaansen serves on several boards of industrial Fora; including the Board of Directors of Ertico, ITS world and ITS-NL, where he stands for the interest of the industry players.
Prior to joining Tele Atlas Bastiaansen had international marketing and sales management assignments at BT division sports (Puma), DSM (Rubbermaid / Curver - plastics), American Greetings Corp. and SCA Sweden (Edet - Paper industry). During his career Bastiaansen also served at the Board of various companies such as Eurolight (HEAD sporting goods), BPF (Bruynzeel – stationary) and NTZ (oil filtration). Bastiaansen holds a Masters degree of Business Administration and Bachelors degree of Economics.
