Last week Ford celebrated their 5 millionth SYNC-enabled vehicles on the road. Launched in 2007, SYNC offers consumer telematics services (crash notification, navigation, traffic, apps, etc.) to a large range of Ford vehicles.
Ford announced that SYNC was installed in more than 4 million vehicles in January 2012; it therefore makes an additional million in just 10 months, against 12 months for the previous million.
Ford however has greater ambitions, having forecast in January 9 million additional vehicles by 2015.
